SAINT BLAŽ CHURCH

This church is one of the typical coastal churches. It was built mainly of stone and covered with stone slabs, but it does not know exactly when it was built, as well as for most smaller churches on the island of Vis. At the top of the church there is a small bell tower above the entrance which is still in operation today. It is only known about the churches that in the second half of the 17th century its pavement was expended and is assumed to have been built in the 16th century. The Holy Blah is the patron saint, and on that day is traditionally blessing the throat and it is the only day of the year when this church serves mass, and for the rest of the day the church is mostly closed.
